1. Overview

At AYO, your privacy is a top priority. This policy explains what data we collect, how it’s used, and how we protect your information while you play and share in AYO — the hot potato with photos.

2. Contact Access

AYO asks for permission to access your contacts to help you connect with people you already know. We never upload, store, or share your contacts on our servers. All matching happens locally on your device.

3. Hot Potato Sharing

When you start or respond to a hot potato, your photo, caption, and status are shared only with the friends you include. Responses are temporary and disappear once the round ends. Your contact info (like your phone number) is never shown to other players.

4. Location & Map Access

AYO only uses your location if you grant permission. We use your approximate location to show where a photo was taken or to help you connect with nearby friends. We do

**not** track you in the background or permanently store your exact location.

5. Potatoes & Rewards

When you respond to a hot potato, you earn **potatoes** — fun in-app tokens that let you start your own games. Potatoes have no monetary value and are only used within AYO to keep the experience interactive and rewarding.

6. Data We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide the service, including:

• Your phone number and display name (for account setup)

• Photos and captions you choose to share

• Timestamps for sent and received potatoes

• Optional approximate location data (if you grant access)AYO Private Policy

We do **not** collect background location data, sensitive personal information, or unnecessary analytics.

7. Data Security

Your information is securely stored using trusted Firebase infrastructure. All photos, statuses, and account details are encrypted during transmission and protected against unauthorized access.

8. Content Privacy

AYO is designed around temporary sharing. Once a hot potato expires or is passed on, it disappears. We do not publicly display or archive your content. Only the people you send it to can view it.

9. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party tools like Firebase to deliver app functionality. These services are limited to storage, authentication, and security — we do not sell or share your personal data for advertising purposes.

10. Your Control

You’re always in control of your data. You can delete your account at any time, which permanently removes all of your content and information from our servers.

11. Changes to Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. Any significant changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of AYO means you accept the latest version.
